I chose not to go to university because I felt that getting relevant work experience while studying the ACA would stand me in better stead.
The best part of being on the apprenticeship scheme is that as well as gaining the ACA qualification at the end of it, you also learn additional soft skills, such as leadership, decision making and building relationships.
Most of my time is spent out of the office, visiting a wide range of clients. This gives me the opportunity to get to know many different companies. Every client is different, so you learn a lot about business as you go.
Having other people who are studying for the same exams as me has also been a great support, and I’ve really enjoyed meeting new colleagues. One thing that has impressed me is the general level of intelligence and work ethic that I see around the office.
