Rachel's story

I always had an interest in accountancy and computing. After successfully graduating with a BSc in Business and Computing from the University of Malta, I began looking into my next steps. The ACA was still quite new to me but after a successful interview at PwC Malta for a graduate role they offered the ACA to me.

I did my research and liked the prestigious quality attached to the ACA and found the success rate to be very high so I decided to go for it. I was also inspired to pursue it after finding out that amongst those who have achieved it were a number of PwC Malta’s partners including David Valencia.

I currently work in risk assurance at PwC. It is much more than I ever imagined because I get to combine my interests in accountancy and computing on a daily basis.

For anyone considering the ACA, I would recommend that they are prepared to work and study hard. I found being able to work full-time while pursuing the ACA was a great bonus. Even though I had some challenging moments it has definitely been worthwhile.

In the future I would like to progress at PwC and have the opportunity to work overseas to broaden my experience, knowledge and skills. I am now a supervisor and looking forward to new responsibilities.

The sky is the limit with the ACA especially with the huge network of people that can help you. The ACA has opened up a lot of opportunities for me and I am looking forward to my future prospects.
