How it works
ICAEW is working with a number of universities to provide postgraduate qualifications with both full-time and part-time study options that incorporate modules from the ACA. Courses are available for prospective students that have not previously studied towards an accounting and finance related qualification.
Once you have completed your qualification you will have to complete any outstanding ACA modules and secure a training agreement to fulfil the compulsory practical work experience, ethics and professional development elements of the ACA and qualify as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

BPP University
Course: Graduate Diploma in Accounting
Duration: 12 months (full time)
What’s included:
BPP University has joined forces with KPMG to offer a fast-track graduate route to completing the ACA. As part of a three-year programme at KPMG, you will study full-time for 12 months completing BPP’s Graduate Diploma in Accounting, 14 of the 15 modules of the ACA and two work placements.
The diploma is made up of seven modules which gives credit for prior learning (CPL) for six ACA modules with the seventh module linked to your work placements and how to implement theory in practice. You complete the remaining eight ACA examinations with ICAEW alongside your diploma studies.
Entry requirements:
- No requirement for a qualification in business or accounting.
- Degree: 2:1 or above UK honours degree (or international equivalent)
- GCSEs: Maths and English Language B (or international equivalent)

If you want to train for the ACA in another country, you must ensure you are entitled to work in that country. It is your responsibility to understand what work visa you need and how to secure one. ICAEW cannot support you in this process, but your potential employer might be able to offer advice.
