Get ahead of your peers by working full time
Build your knowledge and skills in accountancy and finance to enhance your career prospects
Apprenticeships enable those with school and college qualifications to start working in the sector of their choice, while studying towards a qualification and gaining practical skills.
By doing an ICAEW Apprenticeship, you will develop all the skills and training that employers are looking for now and in the future.
An ICAEW Apprenticeship will enable you to start working in any sector and take the first steps to qualifying as a chartered accountant. We currently offer a Level 4 and a Level 7 Apprenticeship, and which one you choose depends on your end-goal.
During the apprenticeship you will study and complete ICAEW’s Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB). The certificate consists of the first six exam modules of the ACA qualification, but is globally recognised as a stand-alone qualification as well. While studying for ICAEW CFAB, you will be earning a salary and gaining essential business knowledge. You will also develop a variety of professional skills, such as communication and leadership skills.
At the end of your apprenticeship you will have studied the Certificate Level ACA exams, been assessed on your knowledge, skills and behaviours and completed a proportion of the required practical work experience to complete the ACA.
You will be in a strong position to secure a training agreement and complete the remaining elements of the ACA qualification.
During the apprenticeship you will study and complete the ACA qualification. While studying for the ACA, you will be earning a salary and gaining advanced business knowledge. You will also develop a variety of professional skills, such as communication and leadership skills.
At the successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be well on your way to being a fully qualified Chartered Accountant. This means that you will be able to work in business or in industry, and continue progressing in your career with a globally respected qualification and the necessary skills to support you in any role you choose.
As an apprentice you will be working full time for your employer, enabling you to earn a wage and apply what you learn in the classroom in practice.
During your apprenticeship you will be allocated time to study for ICAEW CFAB or the ACA and sit your exams.
Your studies and your day job will equip you with the knowledge skills and behaviours for a successful career in accountancy and finance.
Throughout your apprenticeship you will develop skills in commercial awareness, communication and time management, that will be important whatever career you choose to pursue.
The ACA has helped me develop as a professional. I’d recommend the apprentice route to anyone doing their A-levels.
