Compete in BASE

Ever thought about what you’re going to do when you leave school? BASE is your opportunity to take those crucial next steps to making yourself as employable as possible. Whether you’re going to university, considering an apprenticeship, leaping straight into employment, or you’re not quite sure what to do next, BASE prepares you by sharpening your employability skills. How does BASE work?

BASE Registration

Teacher registers your school

Prior to you being able to enter BASE, your teacher needs to complete the online form and register your school.

BASE individual online game

Complete online game

For round one, you'll take on the role of an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and complete a short, online business related game that lasts around 20-30 minutes. This is done individually.

BASE feedback provided

Detailed feedback provided

Following the online game, you will receive detailed feedback on your key strengths. This feedback can be used for personal development, on CV's or in UCAS and job applications.

BASE students put into teams

Teams allocated

You will then be placed into teams of 4-6 from your school, although your teammates may not be in your class. You will remain in these teams throughout the rest of the competition.

BASE students take team challenge

In your allocated teams, you will then complete a team challenge which follows on from the one in the previous round.

Shortlist teams

Based on performance so far, we will then create a shortlist of highest performing teams across all schools and colleges to go through to the next round.

BASE teams deliver presentation via video link

Video link presentations

For round three, our top teams will be asked to deliver a short presentation based on their response to the challenge so far. You will present your ideas via video link, as if it were to a live audience.

BASE National Final

The National Final

The top 48 teams will be invited to the BASE National Final and take part in one final challenge to decide who will be crowned BASE 2018 National Champions. Along with this sought after title, the champions will also win fantastic prizes for themselves and their school.

The National Final

The top 48 teams from the online rounds will be invited to take part in a brand new challenge at the BASE National Final. This is a fantastic event, including an awards ceremony and a free overnight stay at the venue.

There are also awards in a range of categories and fantastic prizes for those who win them. 

How to enter BASE

Your teacher will need to register your school for you. If they haven’t done this, you’ll need to have a quick chat with them in order to be able to enter. Once your school has been registered, you’re ready to take the challenge.
