I wanted to have a recognised qualification that would allow me to work in a range of areas and I knew that a career in accountancy would not limit me to one sector.

After my A- levels I went straight into work at HM Revenue and Customs in their finance area. I was then accepted onto their training scheme where they put me through the stages of the ACA.

The ACA has provided me with a range of accountancy and business knowledge and skills, all of which have added value in the work that I have produced. I really like being able to use the knowledge that I’ve learnt for my ACA studies, it helps maintain my technical knowledge but also enables me to improve my professional judgement.
